ECIB Global Shorts vol. 2
The Audition
A young, beautiful 20-something woman, walks into a local strip club after her plans for moving to a new city prove to be less than profitable. There, she is met with a myriad of personalities including 3 veteran dancers who fail to give her the warm welcome she’d hoped for. After making some rash assumptions about girls and crushing any chance at a good first impression, our protagonist quickly is put in her place. In the end, her name is called and she is left in the dressing room to contemplate the future of her own story.
Boléro
Fran is in his hometown to rest and visit his mother. Following the jerky rhythm of Ravel's Bolero, this journey along the paths of memory and desire will lead him and the whole village to a joyfully chaotic climax.
Stranger
For the past 548 days, A has been absent from her own life, unable to feel anything. One night, J appears and takes her along with her, looking for ways to make her heart beat again. Stranger is a musical tale, the story of an awakening.
The Pass
On holiday, Ben declines an offer from a handsome man, Sam, to go to a private beach, The Pass. There, Ben meets Christopher who grows aggressive as he struggles to mask his desires for Ben, leaving him afraid to get out of the water.
Aribada
In the middle of the Colombian coffee region, Aribada, the resurrected monster, meets Las Traviesas, a group of indigenous transwomen from the Emberá tribes. The magical, the dreamlike and the performative coexist in their unique world.
Area Boy
Area Boy tells a poignant tale of one boy's attempt to cut off a part of himself in the wake of his baptism.
