About the Event

Welcome to The Bonfire Horror Club! For thousands of years, people have sat around the bonfire telling ghostly tales, and now we continue that tradition in front of the flickering light of the silver screen.

Experience the spine-tingling thrills and chills of your favourite frights on the big screen. You’ll never guess what is waiting for you in the darkness as new scares await from the best new horror films from around the world as well. You might even win a prize or two.

There will also be film themed cocktails available at the café bar for you sip between the screams.

You could WIN prizes from our sponsors:

Or, grab something to read from the Dark Oz, one of Australia's leading indie publishers at their pop-up in our lobby!

Join your fellow ghouls on the final Friday of every month for a bloody good time… if you dare.

The bonfire is calling YOU.

Director: David Cronenberg
Actors: Jeff Goldblum, Geena Davis, John Getz

Be afraid. Be very afraid.

When scientist Seth Brundle (Jeff Goldblum) completes his teleportation device, he decides to test its abilities on himself. Unbeknownst to him, a housefly slips in during the process, leading to a merger of man and insect. Initially, Brundle appears to have undergone a successful teleportation, but the fly's cells begin to take over his body. As he becomes increasingly fly-like, Brundle's girlfriend (Geena Davis) is horrified as the person she once loved deteriorates into a monster.

“The Fly is a mass-market, horror film masterpiece that is also a work of art.” – Globe and Mail

“What makes The Fly such a stunning piece of obsessive film making is the way Cronenberg deftly allows us to identify with his monstrous creation.” – Los Angeles Times

“Wildly imaginative, gut-wrenchingly scarifying and profoundly primal (not to mention funny), David Cronenberg's The Fly is a movie that whacks you in the solar plexus and leaves you gasping.” – Philadelphia Inquirer

“As slimy and as grotesque as some of its special effects become, The Fly is a far superior horror film to the top-grossing film in America of late…” – Gene Siskel, Chicago Tribune
